St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum

If your kid loves all things pirate, the St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum might be their ideal place! The museum gives your crew an interactive way to learn all about the marauders who ruled the Atlantic Ocean years ago. It’s that magical combination of entertaining and educational! 

St. Augustine Lighthouse

St. Augustine Lighthouse gives your kids a hands-on way to explore the famous structure. If you are up for a challenge, your admission will include a climb up the stairs to the very top. For those who prefer to stay on the ground, they have a museum at the base as well as a ship-themed playground.

Vilano Beach is on a mission to create a tourist-friendly beach that still gives you those vintage small beach town vibes. You can take a bike along the boardwalk or splash around in the water. They also have some of the best food and shops in town! 

Castillo de San Marcos National Monument

Castillo de San Marcos National Monument is a Spanish fort that dates back over 450 years. When kids step behind the walls, they get the chance to go back through the pages of St. Augustine’s history and see the cultures that called this spot their home. Not only is this an iconic location in downtown St. Augustine, it is also a beautiful place to have a picnic lunch or let the kids run their energy out before grabbing dinner. 

Alligator Farm

While you are in Florida, you need to meet the gators (and no, I don’t mean the NCAA-winning team!). The Alligator Farm is a zoological park that features a number of animals, including the namesake reptiles. They also host daily shows that let you learn more about all the local creatures. This is probably our favorite thing to do with our kids AND we take all of our out-of-town visitors here as well!
