*This year I am participating personal project with a group of amazing photographers. We created a blog circle where we challenge ourselves creatively and technically throughout 2018. Life From This Lens is a fascinating look at how a group of photographers around the country interpret the same prompt (or theme) each month. Please follow along in the circle and see everyone’s take on the theme each month. This months theme was shooting with a wide angle lens*
If I could write a love letter to my Sigma 35mm lens I would. It has been my workhorse go-to lens for as long as I have had it (at least 3-4 years). This months theme was shooting with a wide angle, which typically means anything wider than 35mm. Shooting with a wide angle allows you to get a large, wide view of the scene that you are shooting. What I also love about my Sigma 35 is that with a 1.4 aperture I can still get really close to my subject, while still getting a lot of the scene in my image. I always want to shoot as wide as I can so this past month I also spent a lot of time with my Canon 24-105mm lens and had it locked on the 24mm end. Ohh that beautiful 24mm focal length. In fact I think I may have to rent the Canon 16-35 pretty soon, just to satisfy my curiosity and love for wide angle lenses.
All of the images below are a mix of my Sigma 35 and Canon 105-24 at 24mm. They also showcase some of our summer camping adventures. I can’t emphasize enough how much we love going camping together as a family. It is a lot of work but always so worth it. Our camper has become like a second home to us, and I can’t wait to take it on some longer adventures once the girls are a little older and we are a little braver 🙂
Please follow the loop and check out Alicia’s beautiful photos.
