If your blog post's featured images are fairly low resolution, you may want to delete the top image canvas. Your blog will still look gorgeous, but the top banner section looks best when you upload an image that's 2500px on the long side. 2018 Personal Project | Life From This Lens – April

April 30, 2018

*This year I am participating personal project with a group of amazing photographers. We created a blog circle where we challenge ourselves creatively and technically throughout 2018. Life From This Lens is a fascinating look at how a group of photographers around the country interpret the same prompt (or theme) each month. Please follow along in the circle and see everyone’s take on the theme each month. This months theme was pops of color.*

We are back for the fourth installment of the Life From This Lens project. The theme for April was “Pops of Color”. The idea behind it was to look for little signs of spring and pops of color coming through after a dull and brown winter. Considering it didn’t start to warm up until the second half of the month, this project was actually pretty hard for me! But, I am so glad that I did it.

It’s no secret that I love summer. I grew up living in a four season climate so moving back to Bend wasn’t *that* hard in terms of getting used to winter again. But I do admit that by the time March comes around I am OVER winter and so ready for spring and summer. Since spring doesn’t really show up until late April sometimes May, those last couple of months can be a bit challenging. It was actually really fun to challenge myself to actively seek out signs of spring and other little pops of color. In an otherwise dull environment it was nice to notice little bits of color.

Another “challenge” for me was making sure that my photos didn’t start to look like those selective color photos from a decade (or two) ago. You know the ones…right? If you don’t, Google it to see what I mean. I was trying to think of ways that I could enhance certain colors but my mind always fell back to a selective color image, which I did NOT want! :p

Be warned, this is such a mish-mash of photos. A little of this, and a little of that – literally wherever I could find some color, I photographed it.

When you are finished please continue the circle and check out Alisa’s beautiful images on her brand spankin’ new blog!
