Anytime someone wants to have their family photography session in Downtown St. Augustine I always reply with an enthusiastic, “YES!” That’s because the oldest city in America is such a stunning place! There are so many little side streets to tuck into, beautiful and colorful shops and houses and charming character galore!

This adorable family wanted to document their time together after the most special occasion – their wedding! The blending of families is always such an incredible honor to document. I was so excited to capture their first few hours as a new family. We had such a blast wandering the streets of downtown St. Augustine, taking photos, acting silly and reveling in the love that they all have for each other.

Downtown St. Augustine is an amazing location for family photography sessions, but there are a few things to keep in mind to have a successful session. If you can swing an early morning session, I highly suggest it. St. Augustine is a tourist town, and the afternoons and evenings are VERY crowded. If you can’t swing a morning session (like this beautiful family) then you may just have to be a little more flexible with locations of photos, to work around the crowds. Parking can be difficult, so if you have uncomfortable shoes for your photography session, you may want to bring a pair of flip flops to wear before and after!
