Customizing Your Newborn Photography Session

As a Jacksonville newborn photographer, there are so many ways that I work with my clients to customize their newborn photography session. Each family, home and newborn is different, so it makes sense for each session to be unique! Let’s explore some ways I help my newborn clients customize their Jacksonville newborn photography session.

Pre-Session Consultation
We'll have a conversation before the session where I'll take the time to get to know your family, style, and how you would like to use your images. This is your opportunity to share your vision and expectations, so I can plan a session that aligns perfectly with your desires. I will also assist you in picking out wardrobe options for yourself and your family.

Location
All newborn sessions are done in the comfort of your own home. This is the best location for your Jacksonville newborn photography session because you don’t have to rush or worry about being late to your session, and you feel comfortable and relaxed in your own home. Not to mention you already have everything that you need already at home. Once I arrive to your session we will decide where to take your newborn photographs. Usually I like to utilize the primary bedroom, baby’s nursery and sometimes the living room as well. That being said, I will use the rooms that has the best and most flattering natural light.

Capturing Your Baby's Personality
Newborns are like little bundles of personality, each with their own unique traits and expressions. I'm skilled at capturing those special moments that reflect your baby's individuality. I adapt my approach to work with your baby's temperament, ensuring that the photos truly showcase their unique personality.

Involving the Family
If you have other family members, such as parents, siblings, or even pets, who you'd like to include in the photos, I'm more than happy to incorporate them. These interactions add a personal touch to the session and capture the connections between family members. When including siblings in the photos I will follow their lead. When they want to participate they can, and when they don’t I won’t force them to. I have been a newborn photographer for over ten years and I have worked with many, many siblings of newborns. I have tons of tricks up my sleeve to help them come around to being involved in newborn photographs if needed. If you have a parent or other close family member staying with you to help out with baby, I am also happy to include them in a few photographs as well.

Baby's Comfort
Newborns have their own schedules and comfort zones, and we'll work at a pace that suits your baby. If a break is needed for feeding, changing, or soothing, we'll take the time to ensure your baby is comfortable and content throughout the session. The average newborn session takes around 2-3 hours to complete, depending on how baby is feeling that day.

Special Requests
If you have any specific requests, please feel free to share them with me. Whether it's including a beloved family photo or incorporating something sentimental, I'm here to make your vision come to life. From handmade baby blankets to vintage baby booties, I have had the honor of including so many sentimental items in newborn photography sessions over the years.

Gifts and Keepsakes
After your Jacksonville newborn photography session is done, you will be presented with a gallery of hand edited photographs. I will help you select your favorite images to be purchased for gift items, keepsake albums, framed wall prints and digital image collections. I know that life with a new baby can be overwhelming, and I have found that my clients love having help decide what to purchase.

I'm committed to working closely with you to create newborn photos that are not only beautiful and artistic but also deeply reflective of your family's unique style, preferences, and your baby's individuality. Your session is a collaborative process, and the result will be photographs that hold special meaning for your family and become cherished keepsakes.
