Hiring a Jacksonville Family Photographer for a Custom Session

What is a custom photography session and what are the benefits? I’m here to answer all those questions and more!

I’m here today, relaunching my photography business and I could not be more excited about it. I’m going to explain all of the amazing changes and what this means for my clients. Going forward all of the photography sessions that I offer to clients are custom sessions. So, what does that mean?

A custom photography session means that it is tailored specifically to you and your family (or business). This is not a one size fits all approach. By offering custom sessions it allows me to really get to know your family and make sure that all of your wants and needs are taken care of before, during and after your photography session. The first step to inquiring about a custom photography session is to schedule a discovery call. During that call we will get to know each other, discuss your hopes for the session and generally see if we are a good fit.

Once a photography session is booked we will have a pre-session consultation. This can be in person, over the phone or on zoom. The goal of this consultation is to plan out all of the details of your session. We will discuss location options (either outdoor locations or rooms in your home if it is a lifestyle newborn session), schedule your hair and makeup appointment (which I highly recommend) and go over wardrobe options for the whole family. I will help you shop your closet for pieces that you already have as well as make suggestions for new pieces if you need them. We will take into consideration your family’s style, aesthetic around your home and how you plan to display your images, so that everything looks cohesive.

Speaking of displaying your images, if you know that you want to create some framed prints to hang in your home, we will also plan out a few options in advance during the consultation. If there is a specific type of image that I know you would like to display, it helps me plan for those during your session. On a similar note, if you know that you absolutely want to order a photo album, I can tailor your session to create images perfect for albums.

A week or two after your session we will have your reveal & design appointment. This is when you will see your gorgeous gallery of images for the first time. You get to select all of your favorite images and I’ll help you create the perfect way to enjoy them. I have a beautifully curated collection of printed products available to my clients, from framed prints to canvases to heirloom quality albums and tons of gifts for friends and family. The best part of a custom photography session? By the end of your reveal & design appointment everything will be designed, confirmed and ordered. You don’t have to stress about eventually doing something with your images. Your photo album will be designed and ordered, your framed prints already designed and decided where to be hung. And icing on the cake? Once your framed prints are ready I will even come to your home to install them! It truly doesn’t get easier than that.

I think the number one question that is probably on everyone’s minds at this point is: can I still get the digital images?? I get it - I really do! Everyone wants the digital images from their session (including myself!) and I want you to have them. They are absolutely available at your reveal and design appointment, and there are several different ways you can purchase them. Don’t worry, I will not keep those digitals from you! The best thing about your reveal & design appointment is that you get to select your favorite images, and only your favorite images. If I’ve done my job properly, you’ll need some help narrowing them down ;)
