What a Family Photography Session is Like

If you are looking to hire a St. Augustine Family Photographer you might be overwhelmed by your choices. It’s no lie, there are many talented photographers in our area. Once you have identified a photography style that you like, and start to narrow down your options, you may want to reach out to a couple to see if your personalities fit. In an effort to help new clients, today I am sharing what a family photo session is like with Tracy Lynn Photography.

I have been a family photographer for ten years. Over those ten years I have changed and tweaked and modified the client experience. I have come up with a tried and true process that is easy and fun for families, and results in beautiful images and a wonderful experience for everyone. I’m going to walk you through a typical family photo session from booking to gallery delivery.

Step 1 Get in Touch - the first step is to reach out to see if we are a good fit for each other, check availability and ask questions. You can do that by sending me an inquiry on my contact page, send me an email, or you can inquire through my booking site. This important first step will help you determine if our personalities are a good fit, if I have availability in my schedule that matches your needs, and to ask any specific questions that you might have in relation to your family photo session and/or family. I am super friendly and relaxed, so chances are we are going vibe just fine!

Step 2 Book Your Session - I’ll send you a link to your personalized session. It contains your contract, a questionnaire to get to know you and your family, as well as a payment link for your deposit.

Step 3 Plan the Details - Upon booking you’ll receive an email with lots of information as well as a link to my Client Lounge. That is where you are going to find 99% of the information and tips needed for your session. Everything from figuring out what to wear to creating the best images of your family possible. If we haven’t already confirmed a location this is when we will do that, and if there are any specific wardrobe questions we can work on those details together.

Step 4 Session Day - In the days leading up to your session you’ll receive a reminder email and information on how to get in contact with me the day of. On the day of your session make sure to try and arrive early or on time to your session. Arriving late and stressed is the number one mood killer for family sessions. Once you arrive at your session there is only ONE thing that you need to do. Listen to me carefully, I want you to really absorb this. The only thing that you need to do at your family photography session is to have fun with your family. That’s it. No yelling. No scolding. No threats. Just have fun with your family and I will do the rest. After we are done a lot of my clients like to have a little reward planned - whether that is going out to dinner, stopping for ice cream or maybe having a special movie night when you get home. It’s always nice to extend the fun a little bit longer after the session is over.

Step 5 Gallery Delivery - One to two weeks after your session you’ll receive an email from me with a link to your online gallery. This is the moment you have been waiting for!! Your photographs are ready to be viewed and enjoyed. In the online gallery you can view your images, download digital files and order printed products. You are also welcome to share the gallery with your friends and family so they can enjoy your photographs as well.

Step 6 Enjoy Your Photographs - That’s it! Once you have your online gallery and digital images we are officially done with the photography process. If you would be so kind afterwards, writing a review or recommending me to your friends is always appreciated. And don’t forget to start thinking about your next family photography session with me!

Hiring a St. Augustine family photographer can be an overwhelming process. I hope this blog article about what a family photo session is like with Tracy Lynn Photography helps you in your decision making process.
